Many serious eye diseases, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration (MAD), have no symptoms in their early stages. When the vision begins to fail, the damage can in many cases be irreversible.

For this reason, we have incorporated advanced diagnostic technology that allows us to «see» beyond the obvious. These tests are not only for people with visual problems; they are an essential check for any adult, especially if you have a family history, diabetes or you are over 40 years of age.

Our Diagnostic and Prevention Technology

Our eye health protocols focus on two key tests we offer in our center of Caniles:

Tonometry (Ocular Tension Measurement):
- What is it? It is a quick, simple and painless test that measures the internal pressure of the eye (PIO).
- Why is it vital? High eye pressure is the main risk factor for glaucoma, a silent disease that damages the optic nerve and can lead to blindness if not treated in time. It's the only way to detect it early.
Retinography (Photography of the Eye Fund):
- What is it? It's a high-resolution digital photograph of your retina, macula and optic nerve.
- Why is it vital? It allows us to observe the state of the internal structures of your eye. It is essential to detect:
  - Signs of Macular Degeneration (DMAE).
  - Blood vessel disorders caused by diabetes or arterial hypertension.
  - The state of the optic nerve (complementary to the glaucoma tonometry).
  - Nevus (lunars) in the retina that require follow-up.
