Girl testing glasses with a visual therapy specialist in an optic.

Is seeing well the same as "understanding" what you see?

To see well is not just to have 100% visual acuity (see small letters). Seeing well is a complex process that implies that our eyes work together, focus correctly and that our brain can interpret that information quickly and effectively. Sometimes, the eyes «Come.» They don't know how to work as a team.

When this system fails, there are problems that glasses cannot solve: fatigue when reading, skipping lines, low school performance, headaches, and even problems of balance or coordination. Comportmental Visual Therapy is the «gym» visual brain: a custom exercise program designed to teach the visual system to function efficiently.

Who can visual therapy help?

Visual therapy is effective at any age, although it is particularly crucial in children with learning difficulties. We make a complete evaluation to design a specific program to treat:

  • Vision-related learning problems: Difficulties in reading (slow reading, words skip), low reading understanding, or difficulty keeping attention on tasks close.
  • Amblyopia (Vago Eye): As a complement to the patch, therapy is essential to teach the brain to «connect» with the vague eye and get a functional binocular vision.
  • Stresch: To improve the coordination and alignment of the eyes in certain types of deviation.
  • Focus (Friendly) problems: Difficulty changing the approach from far to close (pizzara- table) or fatigue at the end of the day.
  • Binoculars problems: When the two eyes do not coordinate well, causing occasional double vision or headaches.
